The Birds Beat the Calendar
It's still winter on paper, but my birds didn't get the memo. They've been carrying on like summer's already booked in, and I stood there listening to them and thought — they're right. Summer sneaks up on you every single year. The bloke who starts now is a very different bloke by Christmas than the one who waits for the weather to give him permission.
Work was flat out too. Friday I clocked about 400 Ks in the truck, and I won't lie to you — by the time I got home, the couch was making a very persuasive argument. That's exactly the kind of day the old me would've used as a free pass. This week I didn't need the perfect day. I just needed to not throw the whole thing out because one part went sideways.
And the video that meant the most to me this week wasn't about food or training at all. It was one line: everybody's got a story no one knows. Be kind. You never know what the person next to you at the shops, or in the comments, is carrying. That one came from the heart.
This Week's Challenge
One thing. That's it. Don't overthink it — just try this for the next seven days.
This week: when your plan falls apart, don't quit — shrink it. No time for the full walk? Do ten minutes. Something always beats nothing.
The Hardest Part Is the Standing Start
A stationary train takes enormous effort to get rolling. But once it's moving? It takes bugger all to keep it going. Your health is exactly the same. The first walk, the first decent breakfast, the first week — that's where all the grunt is needed. People think it stays that hard forever, so they never start. It doesn't. It gets easier the moment you're moving.
The other half of the lesson: momentum doesn't care if it's pretty. Don't try to make everything perfect on day one. A wobbly start you actually make beats a flawless plan you never do. Get the train moving first — you can sort out the timetable later.
I Want to Hear From You
When your day blows up — work runs late, kids get sick, life happens — what's your Plan B? And if you don't have one yet, what could it be?
Just hit Reply. Your email comes directly to me. I read every reply myself, even if I can't always respond personally.
This Week's Champion
Trevor's a sparky who reckoned he had no time to exercise — and most days he's probably right. But this week, when his Tuesday walk got wiped out by a job that ran three hours over, he didn't write the day off. He parked at the far end of the street when he got home and walked the last bit, then did the same every day after. Ten minutes, work boots and all. That's not a small win, Trev — that's the train moving. Proud of you, mate.

Six Videos This Week
Plan B thinking, summer warnings from the birds, a well-earned Friday beer, and the kindest message I've posted yet. If you only watch one, make it the last one.
A train is hardest to move when it's standing still.
Get yours rolling — even slowly.
See you next Sunday!
